Heather Leusink, MS, CEP


Raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin, a Graduate of the University of Wisconsin received a Masters Degree in Science, and is a Certified Exercise Physiologist.  Mrs. Leusink has been working in Cardiac Rehabilitation since 2001.  She resides in Franklin TN with her family.

Amanda Andrews 


Raised in Poplar Bluff, Missouri - 2011 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelors in Mass Communication-Advertising.  Ms. Andrews works as an Editorial Assistant at Nashville Music Guide.  Her dedication to the organization is because of family history of heart disease.  She resides in Nashville TN. 

Welcome to Helping Healing Hearts organization.  We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit established in June 2008.  Our Mission is to provide education support and encouragement to all heart patients in the Middle TN area.   Founded by Nicole A. Coppersmith, a heart patient, after completing cardiac rehabilitation realized a great need for additional support for all heart patients during their recovery process.   We do not require that you belong to any particular affiliation or possess any previous membership to join our organization.  We do ask that you support our organization through participation in our upcoming events.  Your tax exempt donation provides the resources to offer monthly support meetings, education seminars, gym memberships and financial assistance to heart patients for cardiac rehabilitation.

Staff & Board Memebers

L.T. Kirk 


​Raised in Florida, Kirk is a Viral Cardio-Myopathy survivor and currently awaiting a Heart Transplant.  An active member in the local theatre.  Kirk resides in Nashville, TN with his spouse. 

Nicole A. Coppersmith  - Executive Director 


Raised in Central Pennsylvania, attended Pennsylvania State University, Bachelors in Speech Communication, Political Science, and History.  She also participated in the University of Pittsburgh - Semester at Sea Theatre Program.   Mrs. Coppersmith moved to Tennessee after living in New York City, NY and working in the Entertainment Business.  She has been an accomplished Realtor since 2003.  Mrs. Coppersmith had a heart attack in February 2008. 

Michelle Yancey - Secretary


Raised in Attalla, Alabama, moving to Nashville, TN in 2002.  Mrs. Yancey has family members who are Heart Attack and Stroke survivors.  She resides in Spring Hill TN with her family. 

Brandi McConnell, RN 


Raised in Arkansas, and a Registered Nurse.  Ms. McConnell has been working in the Cardiac department for the last 15 years.  She resides in Franklin TN with her family.
