On February 4, 2008 my life forever changed.  What started out as a typical Monday, driving to my office, several meetings scheduled and a budget report due by the end of the week – I never imagined at 12:45pm it would all come to a stop. 

I had classic symptoms – Chest Pains, Tingling in left arm, Nausea, Vomiting, lightheaded/dizziness and eventually passing out in the lobby of my office.  I was transported to an area hospital.

When the cardiologist came into the ER room, and explained to me that I was having a Heart Attack, I completely broke down and thought “How is this possible?”  I was in good health, a non-smoker, non-drinker, not diabetic, not obese, no history of high blood pressure, and my total cholesterol (215) however what I did have was a family history of heart disease. 

 I was immediately rushed to a Cath Lab, where a stent was placed in my blocked diagonal branch artery.  After months of Cardiac Rehabilitation, another two visits to the hospital, I thought “what next?” 

 I realized there is a great need for continued support for heart patients; unfortunately there are no support groups in the Middle TN area.  I immediately thought my purpose in life – to get out and talk about my experience with Heart Disease.  I want to let everyone know that Heart Disease doesn’t specify gender or age! I am proof that at the age of 33, it can happen.

Helping Healing Hearts -

Ø      We provided monthly group support meetings for heart patients and their families.

Ø      Financial support to heart patients for Cardiac Rehabilitation programs.

Ø      Yearly gym memberships to continue ultimate health after completing a Cardiac Rehabilitation program.

Ø  Education Seminars and workshops.
